#RedforEd: Tomorrow, we march!

Josselyn and Emily#RedforEd

As we prepare for our educators to walk out tomorrow it is important to remember why we fight. The #RedforEd movement not only has broad support from teachers, support staff and parents, but also the students. Blanca fights for Red for Ed because her teachers have fought for her. Her teachers supported her as she learned English, because they saw how she was harassed by others. Her educators mean a lot to her, and she is ready to stand up with them as they fight for the quality of life they deserve.

Tomorrow, tens of thousands of teachers and educators will march to the Arizona State Capitol as part of the largest teacher walkout in national history. Teachers are walking out because this is about more than raises. They believe our kids deserve highly qualified teachers, one-on-one attention, up-to-date text books and well-maintained buildings with working air conditioning.  Arizona schools are in a state of crisis, and our lawmakers have refused to act.

Arizona educators’ decision to walk out of schools comes after weeks of #RedforEd walk-ins and a budget proposal from Governor Ducey that is nothing but gimmicks and has no real sustainable revenue source. Now, teachers are marching, and they need you standing with them.
